The Grampians

The spectacular Grampians national park, with its stunning sandstone mountain ranges, lies in Victoria
The Grampians
a couple of hundred kilometres west of Melbourne.

Things to See and Do

A diverse range of beautiful terrain, climate and vegetation occupy the region north of the Grampians Ranges including waterfalls, bushlands, near-outback conditions and farmlands. The Wartook Valley, in particular, features picturesque scenery and a range of shops, galleries, studios and cafes established by the local communities with Aboriginal and European influences.

The cold-climate and rich soil in the plains between the Pyrenees and the Grampians facilitate a number impressive vineyards by respected wine producers ranging from Seppelts and Best's to The Gap and Montara. Visitors can also take a tour of Seppelt’s historic drives through the cellar tunnels underneath the buildings and Great Western winery grounds.

Out west, visitors can escape from the bustling towns to experience life in quiet villages such as Harrow and Edenhope. The southern towns such as Hamilton and Glenthompson also come with their own unique flavour, welcoming visitors with sumptous food, wine as well as fine arts and culture.

In the heart of the Grampians is the peaceful and beautiful town of Halls Gap. Located along the foothills of the Wonderland Range, the town never fails to impress visitors with its great natural beauty and its collection of quaint shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants.
