Shoal Bay

Shoal Bay on Port Stephens is named after the numerous sand shoals which are scattered around the area.

Today,
Shoal Bay
Shoal Bay has become a busy little tourist mecca in the mid-north coast of New South Wales.

With various hotels, shops and restaurants adorning its beautiful beach, Shoal Bay is an ideal holiday destination for families and couples looking to relax in a tranquil and peaceful environment.

Things to See and Do

Tomaree Head lies on the easternmost end of Shoal Bay where a short steep bush walk up to the top will provide for some magnificent views over Port Stephens.

Views from here can stretch to about 50km in each direction, reaching Seal Rocks in the north to Newcastle towards the south. Dolphins which frequent the area regularly can sometimes be spotted as well as migrating humpback whales.

Close to Shoal Bay are the beaches of Nelson Bay, the sand dunes of Stockton and, of course, Port Stephens where golf and fishing enthusiasts worldwide head to.

Shoal Bay Hotels and Accommodation

The luxurious Shoal Bay Resort next to the Shoal Bay Country Club is decked with facilities including its own spa pools with your choice of fresh water, salt water or mineral water, restaurants, bars as well as indoor and heated outdoor swimming pools.
