Formerly known as Coolangatta Airport, the Gold Coast Airport is located in Bilinga and provides a convenient port for visitors traveling to Coolangatta or various places along the Gold Coast. The airport services regular domestic flights to and from the major centres in Australia via Qantas, Virgin Blue and Jetstar as well as flights between cities in New Zealand by Freedom Air and Pacific Blue Airlines. Visitors arriving at Gold Coast Airport can travel around the region by renting a car, catching a taxi or one of the regular shuttle buses which travel along the Gold Coast Highway.
