Sunshine Coast
The Sunshine Coast stretches from the top of Bribie Island to the northern end of Noosa and is home
to many fine beaches, surfing and fishing spots. While not as glamorous as the Gold Coast, it has had its fair share of development over the last decade or two. The Sunshine Coast is most famous for its beaches which stretch all along the coast where visitors can enjoy endless hours of swimming and surfing. Those who enjoy bushwalking or rock climbing can try the Glass House Mountains or the national parks at Noosa or Cooloola. Various public golf courses can be found at most towns along the coast with the courses at the Hyatt Regency Coolum and the Novatel Twin Waters Resort being the most well known.
Getting to Sunshine Coast
Domestic airlines fly regularly from all major capitals to the Sunshine Coast Airport on the coast road at Mudjimba, just 10 km north of Maroochydore and a further south of Noosa. Cars can be rented at the airport while bus services will meet every flight arrival to drop you off at your chosen place of accommodation. Other forms are transportation are also possible e.g. by bus, train or car, most of which involve travel alongside the Bruce Highway inland from the coast.
