The Gold Coast Broadwater is a serene body of water which stretches from Southport northwards to the southern parts of Moreton Bay. The waters here are protected from the Pacific Ocean by the Southport Spit and Stradbroke Island with navigation to and from the ocean possibly via the Gold Coast Seaway located at the northern end of the spit. The Broadwater has become a boating and watersports haven with visitors to the area frequently indulging in various tours, cruises and activities. Parasailing, windsurfing and kite surfing are just some of the common activities here as are deep-sea fishing charters, jet-skiing, kayaking and high-speed boating. Tours, cruises and watersports activities at the Broadwater can be booked at the upmarket dining and shopping complex of Marina Mirage and the adjacent Mariners Cove Marina. For those who aren't too keen on getting into the water, the surrounding marinas, parklands and promenade make for a pleasant stroll while just nearby are attractions such as Sea World and Australia Fair Shopping Centre.
