Broadbeach
The modern city of Broadbeach lies just south of Surfers Paradise. With an array of chic cafes, restaurants
serving a range of cuisine, large shopping complexes as well as a variety of entertainment options, including its own casino, Broadbeach has earnt itself the title as the cosmopolitan heart and culinary centre of the Gold Coast. The sandy beaches at Broadbeach are comparable to those up north but with smaller crowds and enough waves to satisfy surfers. Providing a natural backdrop to the beaches is Kurrawa Park which also serves as a venue for various live entertainment as well as an arts and crafts market held on the first and third Sunday of each month. Visitors who are into nature may enjoy spending time at the Cascade Gardens, a local favourite with shady lawns, palm trees, eucalypts, picnic tables, barbecues and a playground for children. Built on the inland side of the Gold Coast Highway at Broadbeach is Conrad Jupiters. The large complex is Queensland's first legal casino and a Gold Coast landmark. Open 24-hours a day, the entertainment plaza also comes with a five-star hotel, showrooms with live floor shows, bars and nightclubs. Shopping The massive Pacific Fair is one of Australia's largest retail outlets and the most popular shopping centre at the Gold Coast. Closer to the beach is the Oasis Shopping Centre on Broadbeach Mall which comes with its own unique monorail that connects it to the various attractions nearby including Conrad Jupiters.
Places to Eat
Most of the trendy restaurants and cafes that Broadbeach has become renowned for are located around Broadbeach Mall and Surf Parade. Broadbeach Mall, in particular, is located just by the beach and surrounding parklands, making it a popular place for beachgoers to wander through during the day for some shopping or a meal.
Nightlife & Entertainment
Whilst being a hub of activity during the day, life at Broadbeach Mall and Surf Parade continues as the sun sets with partygoers experiencing every bit of what Broadbeach has to offer at the various clubs, bars and lounges here that open to the early hours of the morning. For those who prefer live entertainment, Conrad Jupiters hosts a variety of shows ranging from comedians to live bands and colourful Las Vegas inspired performances at their showrooms.
Getting to Broadbeach
Most of Broadbeach's attractions are located just off the Gold Coast Highway which is serviced regularly by Surfside Buslines and connects it to Surfers Paradise and other places further south along the Gold Coast. The Pacific Fair shopping centre, in particular, also serves as a main interchange with many buses passing through including those from the Gold Coast Airport.
